Angelina Jolie - the “sexiest woman ever” - rose to fame in the late nineties, with some notable screen roles that followed on from the geek-flick “Hackers”. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the film “Girl, Interrupted” in 1999, and was spring boarded into the Hollywood uber-list.
Her role as Lara Croft in two “Tomb Raider” films enforced her pin-up stature - she was the ultimate choice of many an avid video gamer as the human version of the pixelated Lara.
Just when it appeared that she had reached the peak of the super-stardom mountain, she became romantically involved with Brad Pitt, and they in turn became “Brangelina” - the highest profile Hollywood couple ever to walk this planet.
