Surfer
For some people it’s is a religion - traveling the world to find that perfect wave; for others, it’s a fashion - wearing a pair of ‘boardies’ and a branded t-shirt.
Dedication to the sport of surfing rewards the participant with more time up on the board, and less time in the ‘washing machine’. It’s a sport that once hooked, you’ll never give it up (barring injury!).
Along with the surfing culture comes the surfing language. A surfer has definitely had a good day when they say “I was out the back when this gnarly set came in, and after snaking a grommet I dropped in on a ripper.”
