Scream

‘The Scream’ by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch is not just one, but a series of four similar paintings plus a lithograph. The image depicted by Munch resembles a male clutching the sides of his head, as if being subjected to an endless barrage of thrash metal music.
The numerous versions of The Scream may also help to explain why it seems to get stolen more often than any other famous artwork, with each theft serving to boost the popularity of the image.
The face of The Scream was also the inspiration for a series of slasher-style horror films (Scream 1, 2, 3…, Scary Movie, etc.). The general plot in all these movies involved a hooded figure running round in a Scream-style mask, wielding a carving knife. Look-a-like masks soon appeared in costume shops worldwide to satisfy the huge demand of children wishing to dress up as psychopathic killers at parties.

Albert Einstein was named by Time magazine as “Person of the Century” in 1999. He is undoubtedly the most recognised and famous scientist in history. Probably his most famous theorem is the equation “E = mc²”, which states that matter and energy are different forms of the same thing.
Time Magazine named Che Guevara as one of the top 100 most influential people of the twentieth century. His life has been portrayed in numerous books, films and memoirs, where descriptions of Che range from hero to ruthless executioner.
Something to suit all those high rollers out there.

Cultural icon, fashion icon, pop icon, sex symbol - Marilyn Monroe’s fame surpassed that of any other in the 50’s and 60’s. She is still instantly recognisable the world over.
Back in the 80’s, Freddy Kruger was the scariest freak in our cinemas. His trademark glove (that had knife blades attached to the ends of the fingers) bizarrely became a hit in costume and toy shops, and many a kid has donned his hat and stripy jumper for some harmless halloween shenanegans.
Tracks such as “All Shook Up”, “Love Me Tender”, “Heartbreak Hotel” and ” Viva Las Vegas” made Elvis Presley an international megastar. His good looks and sexy stage presence reduced many of his audiences to screaming, hysterical wrecks.
