Albert Einstein was named by Time magazine as “Person of the Century” in 1999. He is undoubtedly the most recognised and famous scientist in history. Probably his most famous theorem is the equation “E = mc²”, which states that matter and energy are different forms of the same thing.

Einstein was also a funny guy (a trait not always synonymous with geeky professor-types). He once said, “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe”.

He also had a knack of explaining his work in simple terms: “When you are courting a nice girl, an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder, a second seems like an hour. That’s relativity”. See… easy!
